Preferences for Reception in 2009

Dear Flinders Room Parents,
as the end of Kindergarten and start of school draws near for your sons, teachers have been busy helping students prepare for this big change. In coming weeks your son's will have visits from Reception teachers and closer to graduation will also go on visits to the Reception classrooms. In four weeks teachers will begin to separate the current Kindergarten class and Mid-year Reception class into two new class lists for 2009. Much work, care and thought goes into the preparation of these lists and staff work hard to ensure that each child has some familiar friends, a working group that is conducive to his development and a teacher that suits his learning style.
Before this process begins however we will accept requests from parents for particular peer groupings. Please note that these must be in writing and that we do not accept requests for teachers. Please be aware that requests will be considered but may not be able to be actioned for one reason or another in every case. If you have requested certain friendships to stay together it is always wise to supply us with at least three names. Due to the need to meet and place new students joining us at the college in 2009 class lists are not completed and finalised until the start of 2009.
