Bursting Into Life

Dear Pirie and Flinders Room Parents,
This term we will be finishing our Unit of Inquiry entitled Bursting into Life. Students have already had the opportunity this year to observe growth and change in seeds and eggs and have talked about changes in humans and how we grow. Last term in the Pirie Room there was much discussion about birth with the imminent arrival of Tilda and this term of course we will be focusing on the story about the birth of Baby Jesus. Both rooms currently have tadpoles swimming about and in the coming weeks children will also be able to observe silk worms change as well as hatching monarch butterflies from cocoons.
To support this enquiry we would appreciate it if you could send a photo of your child as a baby to school. We are looking for the earliest picture that you have so that the comparison is most evident. If you are unable to send a digital photo to mbishop@pac.edu.au please send your child's photo to school clearly marked so that we may return it to the correct owner at the end of the term!
Pirie Room students also have a short questionnaire to complete with their mum and dad about when they were a baby.
If you have a new baby in your family and would be comfortable giving your baby a bath in the Pirie or Flinders room please let your child's class teacher know.
Thank you for the support you offer class room teachers by bringing in photos requested from home. They really help enrich our program and help children feel a real link between home and school. We appreciate it very much
Thank you again
Kindergarten Staff
