It is with sadness and excitement that we farewell Bronwyn Webster. Mrs Webster has been with us for the last nine months in the Pirie Room and although we are sad to see her go, it is for a very good reason and we hope that she has joyous news to share with us soon as she awaits the arrival of her third child.
It has been a pleasure to work with Bron over the last term and I have enjoyed her casual laid back manner and great sense of humour. She has displayed a caring manner with the children, always ready with a cuddle and has continued to bravely get down on the floor... and get up without assistance even with only three weeks until her due date to go!
We wish Bron and David all the best on their newest parenting adventure and can't wait for a visit next term. We are pleased to announce the Mrs Emma Mckenzie will be joining us in Brons place.
Bron's burgeoning baby bump has stirred some interest in our young students and below I recount a humorous conversation had on the mat this week after reading the story "There's a House Inside my Mummy"
Child One: The baby's house is inside the mummy's tummy
Child Two: But why does the mummy eat the baby?
Teacher: The baby is in a different part of the mummy's tummy. It's not in the same part of the tummy where the food goes. She is not eating him.
Child One: Yeah, the mummy has a special cord. The food gets in the baby by going from the mummy's tummy part , along the cord and into the baby so he can eat.
Child Two (still a little confused): but why does the mummy eat the baby?
Child One: No, she doesn't eat him, you can't eat humans!
Child Two: Why?
Child One (earnestly, after a thoughtful pause): because they don't taste good!
Teacher: (sound of muffled hysterics!)
... Farewell Bron!
