This week we had fun at the science table looking at how different types of paper absorb liquid. Children quickly concluded that "hard paper wont let the water in, it says 'stop'" and that "soft floppy paper lets it come in but soon it gets too full and the water has to stay on the outside". This experience encouraged children to recognise that paper comes in different forms and can be used for different uses. One child even decided to fetch some toilet paper to see what would happen. Students also enjoyed colour mixing with the dyes and creating patterns on the more absorbent paper. Check out our photos.
